Description

Built for live events, touring rigs, and permanent AV installs, this Cat6a etherCON cable delivers locked-in network performance where a standard RJ45 just isn’t enough. Genuine Neutrik connectors keep the link secure under cable tension, while shielded Cat6a construction supports 10Gbps speeds.

Unlike a generic patch cable, this is built for environments where dropouts cost you the show. Foil and braid shielding handles the interference from dimmers, LED rigs, and stage power. The locking etherCON shell stays put when crew traffic and gaffer tape would yank a standard RJ45 free, and the connector still mates with any standard RJ45 port across the venue.

Every cable is in-house Fluke tested for signal integrity before it ships, so the cable you patch in is the cable you can trust. Designed in Brisbane, built for Dante, Art-Net, sACN, and the rest of the network you’re running on show day.

FAQs

What’s the difference between an etherCON cable and a standard ethernet cable?

The cable carries data the same way. The difference is the connector. Standard ethernet uses a plastic RJ45 with no lock and a build rated for 25 to 100 insertion cycles. etherCON uses a Neutrik metal shell with a locking tab and a 1,000+ cycle rating, designed for the rough handling of touring, live events, and patch-heavy install work.

Can I plug an etherCON to RJ45 connection straight into a switch?

Yes. The etherCON connector accepts the standard RJ45 plug shape, so the etherCON to RJ45 link mates directly with any switch, router, audio interface, lighting console, or media server with a standard RJ45 port. No adapter needed.

What’s the difference between Cat6 and Cat6a etherCON cables?

Cat6a supports higher bandwidth (500MHz vs 250MHz) and longer 10Gbps runs than Cat6. For high-channel-count Dante or AES50 networks, AV-over-IP, and permanent installs that need future-proofing, Cat6a gives you the headroom. This cable is Cat6a.

Is this a shielded etherCON cable?

Yes. It is a shielded Cat6a cable with foil plus 80% braided copper shielding (S/FTP construction). The dual-layer shield handles interference from lighting dimmers, LED rigs, and power cabling, which is what wrecks unshielded ethernet on a live stage.

What length of EtherCON Cable should I choose?

Use 1m to 3m for rack and patch connections, 5m to 10m for stage runs and desk-to-switch links, 15m to 20m for standard venue installs, and 30m to 75m for long runs to FOH or distributed AV networks. 75m is the maximum recommended single-run length for Cat6a at 10Gbps.

What's the warranty on this cable?

This cable is covered by a 5-Year manufacturers’ warranty.
