Description

Built for lighting techs running ETC consoles, theatre rigs, and architectural installs, this 5-pin DMX cable is wired to the DMX512 standard with a 110Ω twisted pair, foil plus 95% braided copper shield, and gold-plated XLR connectors. Run it between your console and the rig with confidence: no flicker, no dropout, no chasing intermittent faults the night before opening.

The 5-pin XLR is the official DMX512-A fitment, used by ETC consoles, theatre and broadcast desks, and most architectural lighting systems. If your console or fixtures use a 5-pin port, this is the cable that plugs straight in, with no adapter and no signal loss through a converter. Mic cable at 50 to 75Ω causes signal reflections that flicker fixtures and drop bytes; the 110Ω characteristic impedance here matches what DMX512 receivers expect. Multistrand 24AWG oxygen-free copper, PE insulation, and foil plus 95% braid shielding keep the signal clean past the corners of the venue.

Choose the Right 5-Pin DMX Cable Length

Pick a length based on the distance between fixtures and your control source:

  • 0.5m–1m, fixture-to-fixture jumpers and tight rack patches
  • 2m–3m, console to splitter, splitter to first fixture, short bar runs
  • 6m–10m, standard stage, theatre, and architectural runs
  • 15m–20m, long throws across FOH to rig, multi-truss spans, large theatre or install
    runs

On a busy show day the DMX line is the last thing you want to troubleshoot. Clear heat shrink at each connector takes a label so runs stay sorted across multiple universes, and the low-microphonic build keeps handling noise off the line when cables get walked on. Designed in Brisbane, built to the spec a lighting rig actually runs at.

Why Choose Titan AV 5-Pin DMX Cable

If your console is a 5-pin ETC desk, there’s no reason to pipe the signal through an adapter. Use a cable built for the protocol end to end, and get back the show-day reliability that comes with a true DMX512-spec line.

  • Built to DMX512 spec, 110Ω twisted pair holds signal integrity through full 20m runs and beyond
  • Foil plus 95% braided copper shield with a semiconductive layer underneath, blocks RF from dimmer packs, LED drivers, and wireless gear
  • Gold-plated pins & zinc alloy housing, consistent contact through 1,000+ patch cycles on touring and repertoire schedules
  • Clear heat shrink, label your runs and keep multiple universes sorted across the rig
  • 5-Year Warranty: if it fails, we replace it.
